How did you and your significant other discuss having children?
During the early months of our relationship, we didn’t really discuss having children. We discussed having safe sex, how to not get pregnant, and selected “Maybe someday” on surveys that questioned whether or not we wanted children, but that was it.
It wasn’t until we moved in together and I had a pregnancy scare that we really sat down and talked about having children. We decided that yes, we would be happy with perhaps one child, but not at this time. When I got pregnant with our daughter, we decided no more children. We were both very happy with that decision. But then when our daughter turned nine months old, I started getting baby urges again, and it wasn’t long before my husband had them too, and that explains our now nine month old son, who is twenty-one months younger than our daughter.
