We introduced the idea of a potty to our two and a half year old in January of this year. At that time she was 27 months old. We bought a toilet seat insert style potty and sat her on it. This was after several weeks of explaining how Mommy and Daddy go potty. She was eager and willing to sit on the seat for several minutes at a time, but more than a month had gone by without any actual doings in the toilet. Then we got busy with moving and kind of let the potty thing slide.
Fast forward to last week. My husband suggested buying one of the actual potty seats. I was skeptical, but agreed. The very next day Alyssa, now 31 months old, sat on it and went. She did it three times the day after that. Twice yesterday. Once today.
I love the smell of success, even if it does have the same scent as a dirty diaper.
