Alyssa, my two and a half year old, got sidetracked from potty training when we all got sick. That was a rought week. First Ryan had a high fever, then she did. Then I got my period, then a horrid stomach bug, and then sick with a really bad cold that Alyssa and Ryan had. It took them about a week to get over it, and two and a half weeks later I still have a cough that is hanging around.
Anyway, the big thing with us potty training her is that we do not want to pressure her. I keep her in diapers, though during the day I’ll put her in training pants. I don’t make her sit on the potty at specific times each day, though I will occasionally remind her of the potty. “Alyssa, do you want to go potty?” And if when she is in the bathroom with me (if? there is no if. She’s ALWAYS in the bathroom with me!), I’ll tell her, “Alyssa, look! Mommy is going potty, because Mommy is a big girl. Is Alyssa a big girl? Big girls go potty!” in the hopes that she’ll want to emulate, since she likes copying just about everything else I do.
For those of you that have potty trained kids, at what age where they trained?
