I have been watching Babies: Special Delivery and Birth Day! since I was pregnant with Alyssa. On very rare occassions I would see a brief mention of breastfeeding. Once or twice I would see a glimpse of a new mother breastfeeding her infant.
Today I was pleasantly surprised. Discovery Health’s House of Babies not only made mention of breastfeeding, but had midwives talking about the benefit of breastfeeding, even going so far as to mention and show stored, frozen breast milk, donor milk, a nine month old who was breastfed and hadn’t yet started solids, and several shots of mothers breastfeeding their infants and young babies.
Right now they’re filming a lactation consultant giving instructions to a new mom on how to correctly latch on her daughter.
I’m so pleased.
