I was induced because Michael was overdue and making bowel movements already. It was the most painful experience of my life and would never do it again unless it was for the health of my baby (again).

Uh I'm scared now. I mean not because of you but just because. I wanted to cry when reading this. I can't figure out if I'm going to do something wrong and not have enough milk and how I'm going to know and I'm scared of breast feeding even though I'm going to attempt it and I know it's what's best.

I would never take it away then give it back or anything like that. It's just so overwhelming and scary and I guess I really should get pregnant first huh?

The whole induction thing. When I was in my early 20's and my friend was having babies she tried to tell her doctor that she didn't want to be induced because of the same things you stated. She wasn't over due. She literally went in for her appointment and was 2cm dilated and next thing you know she's at the hospital and induced in much pain, etc. Then again I mentioned to her that if she had taken time to formulate the birthing plan and actually submit it to the nurses that they would have maybe paid more attention to what she had to say instead of inducing her and then watching the drama of her life unfold before then with her husband and his girlfriend.

But yeah I'm scared now.

Just wanted to shout an AMEN to that! On all points above, HERE HERE! Granted, "to each her own" applies here, but still... when women wonder "why" about the breastfeeding/baby fussiness or "why" about complicated deliveries... I just want to say duh. Thanks for the honest post.
*Signed, a mama who breastfed as long as possible (which sadly was less than a year before they self weaned) and had one natural (ALL natural) delivery and LOVED it so much more than the induced horror!!*
