We’ve done it! Alyssa and I went out today, and I let her pick out a pack of big girl underwear. Once we got home and were settled, I washed the underwear, and then let her choose her preferred color. Not surprisingly, she chose pink. :) Anyway, she was in her new underwear for about three hours. We encouraged her to sit on the potty and try to go – which she did, three times – but nothing happened. But hey, that’s good, right? After all, there were no accidents!

Alyssa went to bed in a diaper, but I instructed Dan to put her in underwear first thing tomorrow morning, after having her sit on the potty for a few minutes. I would take care of it, obviously, except that I won’t be here. It’s a good thing Alyssa has about nine skirts and four dresses, as I’m going to dress her in “easy access” clothes that are easy to get out of the way, until she gets the big girl underwear deal down!

Hmm… I can’t wait for fall. I’m sitting here in a pair of dark blue jeans (I actually had to wash them on “sanitize” and dry them on “anti-bacterial”, as despite being a size 24, they were too large (um, yay?!) ), a cable knit pullover sweater, and my nails are painted “quicksand”, which is nothing more than a deep orange-y/rusty brown color, with a slight shimmer. I love fall! It always has been and always will be my favorite season.
