One thing

By nature, I am not very religious. I attended church weekly as a child, was in a private Catholic school for two years, and go to church off and on nowadays, but that is about it. But don’t get me wrong, as I do believe in God. I’m just, as I said, not very religious.
However, there is one thing I thank God for every single day, after I begin my prayers to Him (usually in the morning, and again at night) – for my healthy children. I am so thankful that I did not have any high risk pregnancies. My babies were never in the NICU. My babies did not have birth defects. My babies never had breathing tubes. My babies are big, hearty babies, and are as healthy as horses.

It really is amazing how much you can take for granted. I know of so many women who can’t have kids, are struggling to get pregnant, have gotten pregnant and lost the babies, or dealt with high risk pregnancies, early babies, NICU babies, babies with birth defects, babies dying from SIDs, etc.

Whenever I start to get frazzled over Alyssa chattering non-stop and Ryan making mess after mess, I stop and reflect on how lucky I am that they’re here to drive me up a wall.
