My father remarked to me tonight that in a lot of ways, Alyssa is like a mini-adult. With each passing day, that seems to be more and more true.
I remember when she was just a baby, and even one and barely two years old, and I would struggle to figure out what she needed, what she wanted, how she was feeling, what she was feeling, and what she wanted to do, while she sat and watched me blankly.
Now? The input I get from her on a daily basis is amazing. She tells me what she wants to wear, what show she would like to watch, what she wants to eat, if she wants seconds, if she’s had enough, if she is thirsty, if she needs to go to the bathroom, if she is tired, hungry, bored, or wants to see somebody or go somewhere.
I know that eventually I’ll get tired of all of her wants, demands, and opinions, but for right now I’m reveling in being able to communicate with my almost three year old so wonderfully!
