Alyssa is at a really fun age. She loves to play dress up, even if it is just with her own clothing. I can’t begin to tell you how many outfits she goes through a day. Thankfully, she is pretty good with putting her clothes back, even if they do go back in the drawers wrinkled and/or inside out. She likes wearing necklaces. She likes wearing bracelets. She liked wearing earrings, but I took away her extra pairs after she insisted on changing them multiple times a day. She was making her ears sore, and then complaining about the soreness (“Ow, Mommy, my ears hurt!”) even as she would be pulling out one pair of earrings to put in another pair. Now she’s back into regular locking posts that she can’t take out. She has had the same gold and cubic zarconia studs in her ears for two months now. Maybe this week I’ll take her and pick out some hearts or stars or teddy bears.
Alyssa is asleep in our bed right now. My brothers are staying overnight, so one is in her bed, and the other is on the couch. Alyssa used to be a pain to sleep with. She still is, but at least she settles down quicker. And rather than snuggling against me and crowding me to the edge of the bed, she crowds Dan, instead!
Of course, I say now that Alyssa is at a fun age. She’s going to be three next month. I’ve heard that three is really bad. Is that true?
