A member of Lavish posted a rant about her friend having an unnecessary induction which wound up in an emergency c-section because of fetal distress. My response to that complaint is forthright.
This is the fourth woman I have heard of either firsthand or secondhand in the last two months that has wound up with a c-section, thanks to an unnecessary induction.
REPEAT AFTER ME: in most cases, inductions are NOT done for any other reason than the doctor’s convenience or that of the parent.
I’m sorry for your friend. But, to be perfectly honest, I’m also not sorry. She should have educated herself, and done some research and/or sought a second opinion before going along with her doctor’s suggestion.
