Despite having two children of my own, I have absolutely nothing against those who choose to lead a childfree life. Why should I be offended by their choice to not procreate? If anything, I should be thanking them for doing their part to ensure that there will be no unwanted or irresponsibly raised children running around in our world.
However, there is a certain “breed” of childfree that I won’t even pretend to understand, and that I certainly don’t respect. That “breed” of childfree is made up of people who claim to be childfree, yet spend a lot of their free time hating on parents (“breeders”, “moos”, “moo-mies”) and their children (“spawn”).
Tell me something. If you dislike something, whether it be asparagus, diesel fueled vehicles, Wal-Mart, or children, would you spend considerable time dwelling on them? The logical answer is: of course not! I hate lima beans. My response? I ignore them. I don’t buy lima beans, I don’t linger over bags of them in the grocery store, and I certainly don’t blog about how much I can’t stand them.
The same should go for the childfree, and the people who hate the childfree (again, I don’t hate them): ignore whatever it is that you do not like!
