I often make pancakes from scratch, using my grandmother’s recipe. Because they are so tasty and delicious, and my husband and son both have voracious appetites, I usually make a double batch. As my kids get older, I imagine I’ll be making triple, if not quadruple batches.
Well, I decided that I had enough of spending forty minutes doing nothing more than flipping pancakes, as I had a simple pan and could only do one pancake at a time. Tonight I sent my mother out and had her pick up a Rival griddle. It isn’t anything fancy. There is no special grilling plate, or a removable drip tray, or fancy temperature settings, or a glass lid to keep in splatters (I’ll most likely encounter that from bacon). But that’s okay. It does exactly what I want it to: make two to four (depending on size) pancakes at a time, cooks them evenly, and saves me loads of time. Best of all? The griddle was only $30.
