Some really super awesome things about owning a home is that you get to do what you want with it. Nasty juice stain on the carpet? Put a throw rug on top, or rearrange the furniture – no worries about damages/repairs! Want to paint the walls? Go for it – choose whatever color you like. As a matter of fact, we painted Ryan’s room green and then blue, Alyssa’s room lilac, and now it’s light pink.
But, oh, there are always downsides to everything. The not so super awesome things about owning a home includes being responsible for all repairs. Our hot water heater died on Wednesday night. Pretty damned sucky. So today we dropped $300 on a new hot water heater, and a bit more for tools and installation supplies. Dan just overtightened and consequently cracked a PCVC pipe fitting, so now we may not have hot water until tomorrow, when we can go back out to Lowes to get another fitting. Boo. 
I have a sink full of dishes and several loads of laundry that need my attention!
