After finding out about twenty-seven year old Michelle Richardson, I firmly believe that the North Carolina Child Protective Services division is being run by a bunch of idiots.
In case you didn’t know, Michelle Richardson left her newborn son in a McDonalds bathroom last December. When she was arrested three days later on charges of abandonment, she claimed that she was simply following North Carolina’s safe surrender law for newborns. Really? According to the law, an infant must be surrender to a responsible adult. The last time I checked, a fast food restaurant’s bathroom does not qualify as a responsible adult!
Anyway, the baby was placed in the care of a foster family. Now, when the boy is eleven months old and definitely settled with a loving family, mother of the year Michelle Richardson has decided that she wants her baby back. Now, get this: despite baby Cory being her sixth child (all but one of her children has been given up for adoption or surrendered to the state), despite Michelle having a lengthy history of check fraud and embezzlement, and despite her being rung up on child abuse charges in the past, the state is giving him back to her.
Someone tell me I’m not the only one who sees something TERRIBLY wrong about all of this.
Name: Alyssa
Name: Ryan

That is the saddest thing I’ve read in a long time
I cannot believe that the state is going to give the child back to her. And here I was thinking that the Dept of Child Services in Australia was the only organisation that was screwed up. DOCS here in Australia have done similar things. It’s just wrong!!
