Lap band surgery

After years of battling my weight, I have opted for obesity surgery. On December 12th, 2007, I have a 10:30am appointment with my doctor, during which time I am going to discuss my wishes to have the lap band surgery. I don’t know what kind of surgeons are around here, but in LA, TX and FL there are Journey Lite specialists. They deal solely with the lap band surgery and procedures, during which a flexible, adjustable silicone band is placed around the upper part of the stomach, which restricts the amount of food taken in, as well as slowing down digestion.

  1. I’ve been thinking about doing this procedure lately as well and have been doing my researching. It seems that in Canada it can range from anywhere like $10,000 – $16,000 for the procedure. A lot of money I think but I’m sure the results would be great.

    If you look on Youtube there are people who videotape their progress and there are also videos of the procedure itself and what it looks like in your body.

    The best part about the lap-band procedure I think is the fact that it’s reversible and usually only takes about 20 minutes to complete!

    Let us all know how you appointment goes because I’d love to know what your doctor thinks about it. (FYI, I haven’t mentioned to my doctor yet about my plans) LOL.
