In a lot of ways, I am very, very glad that Christmas is over for another year! The holidays have me exhausted. This year, in general, has been very exhausting and very stressful. The stress still isn’t over. However, by January 20th it should be, and then life can hopefully go back to normal.
Even though Christmas Day was very, very long, we had a very good time. We started the day at 11, when Dan’s brothers came over with presents from themselves and Dan’s aunt. We gave them their gifts, opened our gifts to each other, and then turned the kids loose with their presents. Only Ryan was more interested in collecting the bows from presents than opening said presents:
I wanted to cry at the quick destruction of our living room.

Anyway. Once Dan’s brothers left to make the rounds to their friends and girlfriends, Dan, the kids and I had a quick lunch of pancakes, and then hit the road. First stop was Dan’s aunt’s house, where we gave her a gift and gave Dan’s mom a gift. Then we went to Dan’s uncle’s house, where we exchanged more presents and gave presents. We also had dinner there.
Final on the list was going to my mom’s to enjoy a bit of Christmas with my mom, brothers and grandfather. We wound up being there VERY late (Dan took the kids and left at 2:30am, and due to some family drama I hung around a few more hours), but we had a wonderful time.
Dan and I received several gift cards and some money, and Alyssa and Ryan have a great collection of nice toys and clothes:
How was your Christmas?
