Does needing time away form your baby or child make you a bad parent?
How much time is OK to have to yourself?
At what age is it OK to leave your child so you can have time to yourself?

Absolutely not! It makes you human. Having absolutely no time to yourself is not healthy for anyone, including parents.

So long as the basic needs of your child have been met, and he/she is in the care of a trusted adult with whom the child feels comfortable, then you should take as much time as you need.

I’d say as soon as you feel comfortable! I admit, with my daughter, I left her in the care of my mother when she was three days old for about forty-eight hours. I was there with her, but sleeping for a good sixteen hours of that time, and resting up and showering and rejuvenating the rest of the time. It was desperately needed!
