Trout Fishing in America! I first discovered Trout Fishing in America when my mother took me to a live concert of theirs. This was a long time ago, obviously, as I am now a grown woman in my twenties. I can’t recall when I went, exactly, but I know I was no older than ten! Anyway, I absolutely LOVED Trout Fishing in America. I thought of them recently, and promptly downloaded the first song of theirs that I could remember, The Window:
Georgie Porgie, puddin’ and pie
Kissed the girls and made ‘em cry.
When the boys came out to playChorus:
They threw him out the window,
The window, the window.
They threw him out the window.
When the boys came out to play
(last line of nursery rhyme)
They threw him out the window.Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the King’s horses and all the King’s menChorus
Little Miss Muffitt, sat on her tuffette,
Eating her curds and whey.
Along came a spider and sat down beside her,Chorus
Peter Peter, pumpkin eater, had a wife
And couldn’t feed her.
Put her in a pumpkin shell andChorus
[ Lyrics found at www.mp3lyrics.org/RbyD ]Mary had a little lamb,
little lamb, little lamb.
Mary had a little lambChorus
Old mother Hubbard, she went to the cupboard
To get her poor doggie a bone,
But when she bent over the
doggie took over andChorus
Hey there little Red Riding Hood,
You sure are looking good,
You’re everything a Big Bad Wolf couldChorus
Rub-a-dub-dub three men in a tub
There was an old woman who lived in a shoe
And who do you think they’d be?
She had so many children she didn’t know
what to do
The butcher, the baker, the
candlestick maker, we’ll
She spanked them all soundly and put them to
bed, and
Throw ‘em out the window, the
window, the window.
The butcher, the baker, the
candlestick maker, we’ll
She spanked them all soundly and put them to
bed, and
Throw ‘em out the window.
Alyssa, just like her mother, loves the song.
Earlier yesterday I went onto iTunes and downloaded the entire Big Trouble album. Talk about a blast from the past! I’m in kid-all-over-again heaven.
