Taken today…
See that face? You may be oohing and aahing over it, but I’m ready to smack it. That face is Alyssa’s “I crying” face. She’ll come up to me randomly, or after I tell her not to do something or ask her firmly for the second or third or tenth time to do something (usually put away her toys, or brush her teeth because it’s time for bed), and look at me with that face. I know the game, but I’ll go ahead and ask, “Alyssa, what’s wrong?” The face intensifies, she blinks several times to get some tears going, and then whispers, “I crying”. A sniffle or two usually follows this little production.
A lot of the time I laugh. I’ll usually tell her there’s nothing to cry about, and to go and [do whatever she is supposed to be doing, or whatever she could or should be doing].
Dan thinks it’s cute. Of course he does… he only gets it once or twice a week, whereas I put up with it every single day!
