Multi-tasking at its finest

It is entirely possible to breastfeed an infant and do a variety of other things, including

  • type on a keyboard (blogging, IMing, emailing)
  • cook (this required the use of a sling!)
  • do laundry
  • kiss your husband
  • rock your sleepy toddler to sleep
  • shop

I miss breastfeeding my son. I miss my son being a tiny little baby. I miss my daughter being a tiny little baby.

This sounds awfully pathetic in some ways, but on some days I find it hard to come to grips with the fact that unless circumstances suddenly change and we willingly pay several thousand dollars to have my tubal ligation reversed (or, if the clips on my ovaries loosen or pop off altogether and I wind up getting pregnant with them still in my body), I’ll never again have a baby. I know that logically, making the decision to have only two children is a very smart one, and overall one that I don’t regret, but still… I love tiny babies. I love mothering.

Oh well. I suppose I’ll have to live vicariously through the pregnancies and babies of others. Speaking of which, congratulations (belated, heh) to Sheena, who had her baby boy, Jayden, last Saturday evening!
