I think one of the best parts of having a toddler and a preschooler is to see how excited and awed they are by the simple, everyday things the rest of us take for granted. Take, for example, the car wash. I was there today for over a half an hour with Alyssa and Ryan, rooting around under and between seats and car seats for trash, then standing on my head and getting dizzy from it while vacuuming, and finally sitting in line, paying for an overpriced car wash ($7.50!!!), and then finally going through the car wash itself. A boring but accomplishing 45 minutes, all in all.
But to Alyssa and Ryan? It was grand. Alyssa had a mini treasure hunt while helping me find trash to throw out. Both her and Ryan giggled like crazy when I’d pretend to vacuum their shoes and pants. And they LOVED the car wash. They were entranced.
See?
