Read, read, read!

Some of my fondest memories as a child are of going to the library with my mom, dad or grandfather, and as I got older, on my own. When I was ten and had the chicken pox, I begged my mom to go to the library and checkout all of the Babysitters Club books they had available. She brought home eighteen of them, and I read through every single one during my itchy seven day vacation from school.

As an adult, I still love to read. My bookcase is bursting with books, and that’s after giving away at least a hundred of them two years ago. I ordered four books from ebay last week, bought three at Target, two at Wal-mart, and checked out three more at the library on Tuesday afternoon.

Suffice to say, I love to read. My husband does too. And we’re both hoping to pass that on to Alyssa and to Ryan.

We took the kids to the library on Tuesday night, signed up for library cards, let the kids play in the childrens area, read Alyssa a few stories, and checked out a few books for them, including The House That  Jack Built and Rikki-Tikki Tavi.

Combined with the books I bought for her at Target last week and what she already has in her bookcase, she certainly has a lot of books to choose from! :)
