We have a new word in Ryan’s vocabulary: cookie. That brings his total vocabulary to ten or so words:
mama
dada
no
uh oh
ball
joo (milk, juice)
go
shoe
more
cookie
Ten words for a two year old isn’t much, and picking up a new word isn’t a big deal… if your child isn’t Ryan. For months we did the sign for “more” and told Ryan “more”. Nothing clicked until two weeks ago, when out of nowhere he started signing and saying “more”!
Today came cookie. I had pulled apart an Oreo cookie and was just about to eat the delicious creamy center of it when Ryan came by and snatched the cookie out of my hand. I called him a cookie thief, and next thing I know he’s holding up the cookie and saying, “cookie! cookie! cookie!” We gave him a few more cookies, each time saying “cookie”, which he would then repeat.
Yay for cookie.
