I like watching court shows, but I despise the commercials that pop up in between them. Lawyers, tacky clothing from regional stores, Relacore, blah blah blah, you name it. So I try to be productive during commercials: load up the dishwasher, scoop cat litter, do a load of laundry. You know, the household stuff that together, can take several hours, but when done individually, can take just a few minutes.
Well, during a commercial break today I was checking my email, and I found a message that looked like spam, but actually isn’t. The email came from National Alert Registry, and offered me a free child ID kit. Well, I checked out the link given, and the free child ID kit seems to be legitimate, though you do have to pay $4.95 for shipping.
The child ID kit includes a hard plastic child ID card, that you can customize to contain your child’s color photo, important personal information like medical conditions and allergies, and a place to put up to three emergency contact information. Additionally, the kit also contains an electronic ID. This is stored on your home computer, and can be used to quickly distribute personal information about your child to law enforcement agencies and the like.
I’ll be passing up on this offer, as I already have hard plastic and electronic ID kits for both Alyssa and Ryan, but I thought I’d throw this out here for any other moms that might be interested.
