My husband’s place of employment is definitely feeling the burn of the bad economy. Dan came home from a meeting today and told me flat out that depending on how things go in the next few months, there is a definite possibility that all managers could be required to work six days a week. After all, it’s cheaper to pay existing managers their crappy overtime pay (they determine overtime pay on an hourly basis, using the following equation: salary / X total hours worked = hourly OT pay), than to actually hire on an additional manager. Even though we all know that it isn’t fair to burden already overworked employees with an additional day’s work.
But, that’s a cheap franchise company for you. *sigh*
