Bendaroos own my soul. Well, maybe not my soul, but definitely my wallet. They’ve also laid claim to Alyssa’s and Ryan’s attention spans, which is fine by me! They both seriously spent about two hours playing with the Bendaroos today. And why not? I had two kits come, so with 1,000 individual Bendaroos, there’s more than enough to go around.
You may be wondering why I ordered not one but two sets of Bendaroos. Well, the answer is that I did so by mistake. I first went to bendaroos.com to order a kit. FYI, they’re a total rip-off. The kit may be “just” $19.99, but the standard shipping is another $6.99. And if you want your order within 5-6 business days instead of 2-10 motherfucking weeks, you have to pay yet ANOTHER $6.99 for the “express” shipping. Now you know that’s a damn ploy, a way to get another $7 for the product, since no parent is going to put up with the badgering of “Where are the Bendaroos?” from their kid for WEEKS ON END. I had to listen to it for four days and thought I was going to blow my stack.
So before I finalized my order (I had filled in my CC details and proceeded to the next page, which is the page where I would CONFIRM my payment and SUBMIT my order), I decided to check around for prices. Lo and behold, I found Bendaroos for $17.99 with FREE shipping on eBay. So I ordered those and said “Screw you!” to bendaroos.com and closed the window. And that should have been the end of it.
…Except that my credit card was charged the full $34 and some change by bendaroos.com the next morning. I called an hour later (I had to take Alyssa to preschool), and my order had already shipped. I blasted the rep about my card being charged and insisted on having the money refunded, as I would not be needing two kits. She apologized, informed me about my order already shipping, and offered 50% back on my credit card. I said fine, as that would work out to be what I paid for the others, and let it go. But I definitely learned my lesson: when it comes to bendaroos.com, and most likely other “as seen on TV” sites, you will be ripped off on shipping, and your card WILL be charged even if you don’t confirm your payment and submit your order. And they ship your order so fast (deliberately, no doubt) so that you feel obligated to keep it.
P.S. Dear Alyssa, stop making everything between you and your brother into a competition.
P.P.S. Dear Ryan, PANTS ARE NOT BAD. Also, SHIRTS ONLY NEED TO BE WORN ONE AT A TIME. Finally, IF YOU PUT A SHIRT ON AND TAKE IT OFF, IT GOES BACK INTO THE DRAWER AND NOT THE LAUNDRY BASKET.
(Can you tell that I get really tired of finding discarded pants and folding twelve shirts three times a day?)
P.P.P.S. What’s up with the sudden influx of commercials on acne treatment? Is Proactiv hurting for business or something?

I’m surprised to hear of this happening. I bought bendaroos online (several times actually since my nieces and nephews wanted their own) and didnt have any problems.
Sorry to hear you lost some money there.
