I guess if there were any lingering doubts about the choice to get rid of the baby bedding and donating the high chair and infant seat, they were chased away by the events of yesterday. What did we do yesterday? We attended the end of year assembly and picnic that was held at the preschool where Alyssa and Ryan attend!
Of course, I should mention that Alyssa will be going back to preschool next year. She won’t be five years of age until October, so she won’t be eligible for kindergarten until the following year. Ryan will also be going back, though instead of the toddler center, he’ll be going into the two days a week three year old class (with or without a therapist to help him integrate and adjust to a normal classroom routine — this is still up in the air).
My kids are definitely growing up!
P.S. You know what’s awesome about small town preschools? The picnic held after the assembly! There were about 40 kids total, and ALL the parents (and even some grandparents!) came. And everyone went all out in terms of contributing food. There was a whole row of picnic tables filled with food. We had quite the lunch!
