With the kids getting older by the day (okay, who am I kidding… by the second!), it’s somewhat weird to realize that we are definitely past the stages of infancy, babyhood and even toddlerhood. Ryan is still very babyfied in many aspects, but he’s going to be three in two months, which just blows my mind. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was looking for maternity clothes in plus sizes, and just last week that I was putting him to sleep in his crib. Now I’m almost down to my pre-pregnancy weight, and Ryan will have been sleeping in a twin bed for two years as of this coming October.
We’re in the early planning stages of Ryan’s third birthday party. His birthday is on a Sunday this year, so we’ll probably go ahead and have his birthday the same day, since it’s a weekend day and most people will have off. Theme-wise, we’re definitely going with Wow Wow Wubbzy, since Ryan can’t get enough of it. Present-wise, I’m clueless, as usual. Ryan is very difficult to buy toys for. He’s very unpredictable with what he will and won’t play with.
Speaking of Ryan, he has an evaluation tomorrow. It will determine the services he will qualify for this coming year, as he’ll be turning three and “aging out” of the agency that provides services for special needs babies and toddlers. Now he’ll be handled by the state-wide agency that provides services for special needs children. This should be interesting. I’ll definitely post with how it goes!
