I know of many parents that hesitate to get that nice TV or an upgrade to a better video game system, because they’re worried about their kids destroying it. In my opinion, it’s all about raising your kids properly. We upgraded from a standard CRT television to an HD LCD display when Alyssa was two and a half and Ryan was four months old. Since then we’ve acquired a PS3, a new camera, and a few printers.
And honestly? The kids are great with the stuff. The only slight issue we have is with the DVDs and the video games. Ryan loves opening the cases and looking at the pamphlets and games and DVDs themselves. Not too much of a big deal, except that he gets smudges on the games and DVDs, and he sometimes rips the pamphlets. Eh.
So in conclusion, there’s nothing wrong with having electronics around your kids, so long as you raise them to understand that they can’t touch them!
