Since birth Alyssa has been quite independent and stubborn. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that she is spoiled, spiteful or defiant, but she certainly knows what she wants, and is quite willful. She is, however, a very good little girl, and is never what I would call “bad”, so I handle her major independent streak quite well. Even though at times I feel a bit saddened by her almost lack of need for me. Ryan needs me, seeks me out often throughout the day for interaction, cuddles, kisses, hugs, reassurance, etc. Alyssa has never been that way. Even as a baby she wasn’t interested in being held or breastfed like Ryan was.
But she’s great, and what she lacks in physical affection (though I am sometimes treated to surprise kisses and extra tight hugs) she more than makes up for in conversation. She babbles my ear off, and loves to be with me, even if she’s doing her own thing.
Tonight she plopped into my lap and asked to take some pictures with me. She loves using my webcam and playing around with the cool border and graphic effect features that the software offers. She also loves playing on the cellular phones that Dan, myself and my mother have. She loves shopping with me, and provides opinions on anything from personalized baby gifts to what we’re having for dinner. She likes taking pictures, and she also loves playing Bubble Breaker. Anyway, I think we got some really great shots earlier tonight:
