Alyssa has this idea that girls don’t fart. Obviously she knows that girls do, especially since I have overheard her let one rip, but she wants everyone else to think that girls, especially HER, wouldn’t dare do such a gross thing. She gets so indignant about the whole thing. It’s hilarious, though I’m careful not to tease her overmuch. I think she has a pretty sense of humor, and since I try to soften my teasing with silly words and gestures, she’ll often crack up while complaining and arguing.
The other night Alyssa did let one go right next to me, and when I pointed out that she did it, she tried to blame the dog. Nice try, but the dog was outside. Then she tried to blame Ryan. An A for effort, except that he was in his bedroom at the time. Finally she gave up and said, “Okay. *sigh* Maybe girls do fart… but only sometimes! And they’re little farts!”

That’s a good attitude for her to have, as she gets older she’ll learn to do it in private. My boyfriend and I don’t fart around each other. We’ve each let one go in our sleep, and somehow it always seems to bring us to consciousness for an ‘excuse me…’. So funny ;P ill know he’s dead asleep, but as soon as he passes a little air he wakes enough to apologize!
