I know we’re only in August, but before you know it Christmas is going to be here. Alyssa and Ryan go back to preschool on September 14th, Alyssa’s fifth birthday is on October 27th, Halloween is on the 31st, and then there’s Thanksgiving and before you know it, CHRISTMAS.
So, even though it’s early, I’m already contemplating the various things I’ll get for the kids.
Ryan is really into letters and numbers right now, but he is also showing more of an interest in little action figures and in cars. He loves Wow Wow Wubbzy, but that’s right now… I’m not sure where he’ll be with that in December. But action figures and cars? I’m 99% certain that he’ll love those things at Christmas, which means Playmobil and Rescue Heroes would be perfect! In general, finding things for Ryan is difficult. He’s not like the average toddler with the interests in the average toddler toys. When he turned one, for example, he was all about shower curtain rings and tubes of toothpaste. When he was two, he was all about tubes of butt cream, toothbrushes, and chewy tubes. It’s only now that he’s three that he is really liking actual TOYS. And even then, the selection is greatly limited.
Alyssa, on the other hand, is incredibly easy. Barbies, dolls, princess stuff, anything Hello Kitty, etc. I definitely don’t have any trouble with her!
When do you typically plan out presents for Christmas?
