Today (well, yesterday now. I’m talking about Sunday for those who may be confused!) was too gorgeous of a day to stay cooped up indoors. I went out to Target in the morning to pick up an insulated lunch bag style cooler (and was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the awesomeness of the Thermos Raya Cooler Tote (in this print)!), some of those reusable ice packs (how have I lived on my own for SEVEN YEARS and not had any of these?), a pack of cheese, some juice and donuts, and came home. Several hours later, after checking out Halloween costumes for the kidlets (though any of these naughty nurse costumes sounds like a good idea for me!
), after the ice packs were nicely frozen solid, and the tote bag was nicely chilled from chilling (heh) in the fridge, I put together sandwiches, packed some snacks and juice, and off the kids and I went to the park for a late afternoon picnic!
Alyssa loved it. We brought along a beach blanket, and she was too happy to spread it out and set up our food. The temp was probably around 70°, the sun was bright but not overpowering, the humidity low, the annoying insects non-existent. There was plenty of shade from the large trees that surround the park on three sides, and a nice breeze blowing. In summary, it was a gorgeous setting for a late afternoon picnic!
I have photos, of course.
