I had surgery last Wednesday, so in the days leading up to surgery I made sure to play outside with Alyssa and Ryan, watch movies with them, take them out, etc. I knew I’d need 1-2 weeks to recover and probably 2-3 weeks to feel like myself again, so I wanted to have some fun experiences with them and make good memories for them before I got laid up. So on a crisp, sunny day last week we headed out and had fun in the massive leaf piles we’ve raked up in our yard.

Alyssa has no problem hamming it up for the camera:

And got a nice, natural shot of them together (they weren’t even looking my way or paying attention to me):

I love this time of year. I’m not a fan of September, because it’s too warm. In October, it’s too rainy. But November? Just perfect. Sunshine, a brisk breeze and temps in the 50s and 60s are my idea of the makings of a perfect day!
