Hallmark has been going crazy advertising their The Night Before Christmas recordable story book, and I’m somewhat ashamed to admit that I now want one. And now that I found a $10 coupon in this month’s Parents magazine, I’m even more tempted to run out to Hallmark and pick up one. I think it would make an adorable gift for Alyssa and Ryan. I can just see Dan and I taking turns recording the story, then presenting the book to Alyssa and Ryan on Christmas Eve. I think it would make a really sweet tradition to read it every year on Christmas Eve, perhaps while we have some freshly popped popcorn and hot chocolate?

Speaking of Hallmark, I just realized that Thanksgiving is just three days away. I need to get my ass down to the post office and open up a new PO box. I then need to purchase holiday cards! But I need to get the PO box first, because we’re doing a card and gift swap at Lavish, and I’m pretty sure it kicks off around the 30th.

Right now I’ve got my feet up and I’m watching Wife Swap. This particular episode features a mother with 3-4 boys who are all about sports, cad drawings, hunting and video games. It’s unfortunate, because there is a sister sibling who is pretty much overwhelmed by all of the testosterone and guy stuff.
That’s one nice thing about having just one boy and one girl. We’re a family of four, two boys and two girls, so the balance of testosterone and estrogen is pretty equal! Of course, if you factor in the four male cats, Alyssa, Leah (the dog) and I would be hopelessly outnumbered. But the cats are neutered, so they don’t count. ;)
