Two days ago the forecast called for some flurries today.
Yesterday I resisted the urge to change the radio station in the car, and listened in disbelief and some horror as the guy from the emergency broadcast system broke the news that we’d be getting anywhere from 12 to 14 inches of snow.
And this morning? I felt slightly sick when I saw the total accumulations at the end of this mess are up to 12 to 24 inches of snow. What the hell, Mother Nature? I understand that snow is an inevitable part of winter, but usually these kinds of storms don’t hit until after Christmas. And we usually have a few smaller snow storms first!Anyway, when I went to bed last night — around midnight — a bit of snow was already laying on the grass and the cars. As of this morning there were a few inches, and when I reluctantly tromped outside with Alyssa and Ryan, who INSISTED on playing in the snow, it was up to our knees in places. The whole area has come to a standstill. The roads haven’t been plowed recently, and it’s obvious that everyone is home. Here are some pictures from today!
