Last month I bought pink frosting, a bunch of heart sprinkles, Valentine’s Day themed cupcake liners (both the regular and mini sizes!), two bags of red, pink and white M&Ms, red Hershey kisses, and some pink and red food coloring. I had all of these awesome intentions to make spiffy Valentine’s Day goodies for us and for friends. But then I got busy, and then I got sick, and all of those plans went flying out the window. Instead, I scrambled to put together heart-shaped Rice Krispie Treats and heart-shaped Cheerio marshmallow Treats for the kids to take into preschool today.
Oh well. No one but me knows of my massive fail, so it’s all good. And at least I’ll have plenty of goodies for Valentine’s Day 2011! ♥
Right now I’m sitting in a hospital waiting room, enjoying a comfy chair (well, sort of. I’ve been sitting in it for almost four hours, so my butt is going numb.) and free wifi (thank you, spiffy hospital). I’m so sleepy… I only got about 3.5 hours of sleep. I guess I shouldn’t be looking at www.sleepingaidreviews.net right now, lol. Why am I in a hospital waiting room? Well, my friend Jason has been having a lot of platelet issues, and it was recommended by at least three different specialists that he have his spleen taken out. So he’s here today, getting it removed. Or should I say, he had it removed. As I type this, he’s getting stitched up, and will then be sent to recovery. A patient liaison checked in with us (us being Jason’s parents, his sister and I), and it sounds like the surgery went really well. Whew!
