As I mentioned in my past few entries, I took the kids to a local playground today. We had a fantastic time, minus a bit of sunburn. Oh, and minus Ryan’s pissed off bouts. Why was he pissed? Simple: I refused to let him have Oreo cookies or Skittles (both brought by my brothers) until he ate at least half of his sandwich — which was made on half of a sandwich roll, so it’s not like it was an obscenely large sandwich or anything.
Is it lame that I was excited to come home and check out the ceiling fan that my husband installed in our bedroom? We have lived here almost three years, and we just got around to the discussion of ceiling fans last fall. For our five year wedding anniversary (October 1st), Dan installed a nice ceiling fan in the living room. We let Alyssa pick out a cute pastel rainbow ceiling fan for her bedroom in late January, and then we picked out the one for our bedroom yesterday. Now we just need to get one for Ryan’s room, and we’ll be all set.
I seriously love how handy my husband is with building things, modifying things and fixing things. I describe what I want done, and he makes it happen, often with no prior experience, and sometimes with no real knowledge of what it is I want him to do. How awesome is that? I’m sure I could bug him about plasma televisions and plasma mounts, and despite never having either, he’d pick out decent ones and have them mounted and up and running.
On a related note, I’m a HUGE fan of honey-do lists. My husband is too, since he often forgets things if they’re not written down for him to get back and reference, lol.
