Italianize your sides

Wannabe Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits I’d say at least 50% of the time we’ll have spaghetti, lasagna, ravioli, or some type of Italian seasoned/marinated meat, only there will be no tasty garlic bread to go with it, because I forgot to buy some. The last time that happened Dan had his heart set on having garlic bread with our spaghetti and meatballs, but I was so busy worrying about sorting an excel spreadsheet of exposed acne treatment reviews that I forgot to get some garlic bread at the grocery store. Whoops! Well, I’ve learned from experience to do without the pre-made crap and make my own instead. Most of the time we have extra bread lying around, or rolls, or a loaf of Italian bread, or in the case of just a little bit ago tonight, a canister of Pillsbury biscuits. You can use those + some melted butter with garlic powder & parsley flakes mixed in to create your own yummy garlic bread (or slice of bread or roll or biscuit, as the case may be).

Simply melt half of a stick of butter, toss in 1.5 tablespoons of garlic powder and a tablespoon of parsley, mix it all up and use a pasty brush to paint the liquid Italian goodness on your bread. You can apply it to untoasted bread or raw biscuits, then toss in an oven heated to 400° for a few minutes to brown. Add a finishing coat, and they’re ready to be served!
