So a few days ago Ryan picked out a gorgeous white & purple/red Betta fish, along with purple gravel and a Spongebob Squarepants decorative ornament. The whole setup is gorgeous, and Ryan is very excited about having his very own fish. So excited, in fact, that the following conversation took place the other evening, when my mom, Alyssa and I were in Ryan’s room along with Ryan. We were sitting on his bed exclaiming over his fish and talking to him about it…
Ryan: *puts his head down* I sad
Me: Why are you sad?
Ryan: ‘acause
Mom: Because why?
Ryan: *head down* [mumbling]
Mom: What did you say?
Me: Ryan, why are you sad?
Ryan: I want you ‘n Guhmom get out
Me: You want Grandmom and I to get out?
Ryan: Yeah!
So yeah, totally kicked out of his room because he wanted alone time with his fish.
Anyway, this fish is a total scaredy-cat. Or scaredy-fish. At first I thought he was sick or dying (damn fish; you LOOK at them wrong and they kick), but no, he’s just fine. He’s just shy, I guess. Whenever a shadow crosses the tank or he sees something in the room, he IMMEDIATELY darts behind the filter or Spongebob ornament. It’s so crazy. I never experienced a fish that was afraid of people!
