Alyssa will be starting kindergarten next fall. To say I am super excited is an understatement. She is a very smart little girl, and she loves learning new things. I can tell that she is somewhat bored by preschool (this is her second year; she didn’t turn five by the required cut-off date, which is why she isn’t in kindergarten now), but still goes for the social and fun aspects of it. Plus I’m looking forward to having one kid out of the house five days a week. It will make designing websites for bridesmaids gifts SO much easier! Also, Ryan will switch to the 3-day preschool class since he’ll be four, so between that and his special needs preschool he too will be in school five days a week. If I weren’t so tired I would find a better way to express my sheer joy at the prospect of both of my kids being in school five days a week!
Now I just need to figure out which elementary school Alyssa will be going to. That sounds inane, like it should be obvious, but there are three elementary schools in the area, and it seems like we live right on the edge of the township or something, because every parent I talk to sends their kid to a different school. So yeah… I need to contact the school district and find out where Alyssa will go based on our address. Then I can call the school — or do they contact us (I filled out some pre-reg paperwork at preschool a few weeks ago)? — and get the ball rolling!
Name: Alyssa
Name: Ryan

My 11 year old was really bored in pre-school. He went to daycare then a couple of years in pre-school. His birthday fell just outside the registration dates and he missed out on real school by a year. It didn’t bother him too much, he was right up there and even a bit beyond what the other kids knew in school. Enjoy some “free” time for yourself!
Take care,
Tracy
