Preschool is over in another week and a half, which means that Alyssa and Ryan only go for four more days, and then their last day is on May 12th. Just like last year, there will be an awards ceremony, followed by a picnic and candy scramble outside afterward. I was the first mom to sign up for contributions, bwahahaha, so my contribution to the picnic will be my Awesome Nachos. I also need to take the kids shopping for personalized gifts for their teachers. Ryan’s teacher in particular deserves a freaking medal for being able to keep up with him all year long, lol.
Once school is out, I don’t know what the heck I’m going to do with the kids every single day! Ryan will continue with his special preschool throughout the summer (they go year round, though they do have week-long breaks every few months), but what about Alyssa? I’m sending both of the kids to a week-long vacation bible school at the end of June, but other than that… meh… I guess we’ll have to make do with a yard full of toys and activities, including bicycles, a scooter, and roller skates. We’ll also go to the playground and to the pool as often as possible.
What do you do with your kids during the summer? How do you keep them — and you — from going stir-crazy?
