Today is Alyssa’s kindergarten placement testing. She’s excited and I’m excited, though I’m certainly not excited about the prospect of filling out dozens of forms and signing my life away one signature at a time. Can’t I just copy/paste? Better yet, can’t I just fill out the forms online?
One thing I’m anxious about is which elementary school she’ll go to. There are three choices. School A is the most likely one, as it’s the “primary” one in our district. School B was mentioned as a possibility; I hope to god she doesn’t go to this one because it’s 20+ minutes away from here — for the times I might have to go in, that would really suck! And School C is the one that Ryan goes to, so I’d absolutely love it if they could place her there. In fact, I think I’m going to push for School C. If she goes there I’d only have two kids and two schools (Ryan attends School C’s special ed preschool program, but he also goes to the regular preschool down the road) to juggle. If she is put in School A or School B, I’d have two kids and three schools to juggle, and that could get confusing. But if I have to pick between School A and School B, I’ll definitely opt for School A, since it’s closer and not so far out of the way from anything resembling civilization.
Yikes… I can’t believe Alyssa is going to be going to elementary school! It seems like just yesterday she was born… yet that was almost six years ago!
