I really hate this age of childhood — the 3-6 age range. Sure, it’s a fun age, but not so fun when the kids are squabbling and fighting over things just because they can. Seriously, there are days when Alyssa and Ryan will argue over what color plate to use at the table or which booster seat to sit in when we go out — not because they really care, but so they can have something to argue about! Obviously I mediate and help with compromises and turn taking, but there are days when I’m very tempted to turn my back on them and let them hash it out on their own. It would make writing articles about wedding favors and designing website templates for bridesmaids gifts so much easier!
Please tell me that this sibling squabbling will dissipate over time. Or at least assure me that as they get older, Alyssa and Ryan will only squabble over legit things. Because right now, this whole game of Let’s Find Something To Argue About Just So We Can Hear Ourselves Argue is getting Very. Old.
