One of the best things about Alyssa and Ryan getting older isn’t the awesome milestones they’re hitting, but the fact that everyday life is becoming so much easier. 
Right now, for instance, Dan and I are at the pool with the kids. But instead of being in the water with them and shadowing their every move, as we did two years ago and even last year, to a large extend, we’re relaxing poolside, while Alyssa frolics in the shallow end and Ryan walks around and splashes along the edge (sidenote/clarification: we’re both within twenty feet of them and are keeping an eye on both of them at all times!).
It’s the little things, like them buckling themselves in when we go out (I do always check their seatbelts to make sure they’re fastened properly and pulled taut), helping to set the table, bringing me their dirty laundry, putting clean clothes away, etc., that makes watching them “age” so damn awesome.
