No lie, I started my Christmas shopping last month. I think it kicked off right around the last week of April, when I spotted some really cool table top games that Target marked down from $24.98 to $7.98. I picked up billiards (for my fourteen year old brother), foosball (for my twelve year old brother), and air hockey (for Ryan — though I’ll probably give this to him for his birthday next month). A few weeks ago I found a $25.98 TechGirls Emo compute game/interactive figurine thingy for just $4.98; that is being put aside for Alyssa for Christmas.
People probably think I’m nuts for starting this early, but honestly it makes SO much sense to start as early as possible, especially if you have a lot of people to shop for. In my case, there’s my husband, Alyssa, Ryan, my two brothers, my mom, and Jason. Then there’s Dan’s four siblings, his brothers’ girlfriends, and a handful of aunts and uncles. Add it up — that’s a LOT of people to buy for! By starting early, we won’t be so panicked or broke during the last few weeks leading up to Christmas. And since we probably won’t be out quite as often or for so long during those last few weeks before Christmas Day, there will be no need to worry about prototype 37-c for my mom or Dan, since we won’t be out so much and subsequently not eating out so much.
So, have you started your Christmas shopping yet?
