I am currently typing this from the pool. I’m sitting in my swimsuit, and I was in the pool, but now I’m nice and cool from the combination of being damp from the pool and the breeze that is blowing through the pavilion I’m sitting in, so I’m good to go, even though it’s about 90° out. This time last year I doubt I would have been so indifferent to the high temperatures. When I was 125 lbs. heavier, I was seriously hot ALL OF THE TIME. I’d keep our living room air conditioner unit set to 68, and even then that sometimes wasn’t enough. This year we have a ceiling fan, and that plus the AC unit set to 75 or so makes it feel perfect. *bliss*
Anyway, I am seriously ODing on chlorine here. This is my fourth time this week at a pool, though the first time this week that we have been to our “normal” pool. I met up with my mom and brothers at another pool a few times. It was bigger, and it had several water slides, but it was further away, and there was the unfortunate ghetto/punk kids element due to the pool being in the city. That one offers cheaper season passes, but I think we’ll stick with this one. It’s also “safer”, so I can feel comfortable using my netbook to write about baby shower invitations without worrying about someone trying to steal it from me. In summary… it’s quieter, and it’s nicer, and it’s a hell of a lot closer — just four miles away as opposed to the 12 miles we have to drive to get to the other one!
