Seemingly overnight Alyssa got into WoW, and then Ryan got into Little Big Planet (for the PS3). At the rate they’re going, it’ll be just a few short years before they each ask for their own laptop!
It’s interesting to see the differences between their childhoods and mine — and Dan’s, too. When I was a kid, I had a Nintendo system, then a Super Nintendo system, and finally a Sega Genesis. I kind of regretted trading in my SNES and a Sega Genesis, but it worked out well. I was the cool kid on the block with the Sonic the Hedgehog games, and all of my friends had NES and SNES systems, so I indulged my love for Mario and Yoshi at their houses.
What was your preferred gaming system when you were a kid?

I loved my Atari 2600 and, after that, my NES. Post-NES, I really didn’t have a gaming system until the Nintendo Wii. Now, NHL plays on the Wii and his little brother is chomping at the bit to play (but doesn’t really get it). Both of them are whizes with the computer, though. NHL has inherited TheAngelForever’s old laptop and will browse/play games. JSL needs to be set up but can then work the touchpad like an expert. I’m so proud!

We didn’t have any gaming systems until high school, but we loved playing our uncles’ Super Nintendo. We then loved our Gameboys and Nintendo64 to death; and I had an Xbox later on that I adored.
Even though my mother wasn’t – and still isn’t – a fan of video games, we currently have two DS, a Wii, an Xbox and a Playstation 2 XD
