God bless headphones

I am not one for a loud household. Alyssa and Ryan know I can tolerate a lot of things, but shrill voices, yelling, screaming, loud noises from electronics? No, no, and no. Both kids have iPads, and they often — and in Ryan’s case, almost always, as it keeps him calm in public — bring them with us when we go out. Two iPads blasting different sounds from different apps at the same time can be very grating, especially when you’re cooped up with them in a small car, heh. The solution? Headphones, duh. But finding headphones that are kid-friendly (and durable enough to withstand the not-so-gentle usage by kids) is no easy task. I recently spotted kid-specific headphones that fit snugly on the head much like a headband (these), and thank god, Alyssa and Ryan took right to them.

God bless headphones!

Now if only it would be so simple to find security cameras that are compatible with our laptops, so we could do our own home surveillance, on our home network, without having to setup a separate, most likely complicated system. Or maybe we should just use webcams? There’s an idea.
