I think it’s awesome that many companies are jumping on the bandwagon and using Recycled plastic material for their new products. I heard a little while ago that it’s estimated that common plastics can take a thousand years OR MORE to fully decompose. That’s scary, especially given all of the plastic that is in our lives and on our shelves. It makes me sad when I think about all of the excess packaging used for many toys, household products and even some grocery items. It also motivates me to choose products from companies who use recycled plastic and participate in recycling their own plastic.

The plastic I’m talking about is HDPE, or High Density Polyethylene. The bits ready for recycling are referred to as HDPE scrap.
